GT Radial Atop Formula DRIFT Podium for 2 nd Consecutive Event

Brand Now in First Place in Tire Cup Standings

GT Radial driver Adam LZ claimed his second win in Formula DRIFT competition here on June 21, propelling the tire brand to first place in the Tire Cup standings.

It was the second consecutive first place finish for GT Radial. Fifteen-year-old Hiroya Minowa, competing on GT Radial tires, made history at Orlando Speed World on May 31 as the youngest ever winner in Formula DRIFT competition. In New Jersey, Minowa was defeated in the Top 16 and dropped one place to fourth overall in the driver standings.

The Old Bridge Township Raceway Park has been very good for LZ. He claimed first place there in 2023. In the latest Formula DRIFT PRO Championship competition on June 21, LZ and his Drift HQ E36 BMW beat Fredric Aasbo in an incredible final. The accumulated points propelled LZ from ninth in the driver standings to third.

Since 2009, Adam LZ has been traveling the world and documenting his adventures on YouTube. After making a name for himself in BMX, he leveraged his success to fund his first drift car in 2015 - an SR20DET S13. He started learning how to drift by doing parking lot donuts.

“Adam and his team did a marvelous job in yet another highly competitive Formula DRIFT PRO Championship event,” said GT Radial Motorsports Manager Mike Meeiem. “There is more intense competition ahead, but we are thrilled to be in first place in the Tire Cup standings at this point in the season.”

The GT Radial brand won the Tire Cup in 2023. The Champiro SX2 RS tires, which are available for street use, are produced at the company’s passenger/light truck tire manufacturing facility in Richburg, SC.
